Sweaty Guinea Pig Goes Live

Not So Bright Anymore

The sky had been bright and shinny for the last two months when I woke
up at 5 AM...but not anymore. Summer is winding down; I wake up to
darkness and the sky barely brightens up when I go out for a run in
the morning at 6 AM.

Vegetable Macaroni and Cheese

Thought I could use rolled oats instead of bread crumb to create
crusty crust; it didn't turn out that way (oats just kind of fell
apart). Maybe crush the oats thiner and mix them with Parmesan cheese
would help next time. But the the smoked cheddar cheese that I bought
from Vermont did add a lot of flavor to the dish. With more than half
of the mac-n-cheese left, I won't have to worry about cooking lunch
for the next two days.

All for 28 bucks

I spent 28 bucks this afternoon at the farmers market. The food will
last me at least 3 days...great deal!

Kitchen Confidential

Sick and tired of a cluttered kitchen...time to make some changes.
Pretty sure more changes will be made, but at least I can cook in
peace for now.

Buttermilk Pancake

I have never made traditional buttermilk pancakes until this morning.
I used Alton Brown's recipe from his Good Eats show. My buttermilk
pancakes turn out fluffy, moist, and soft, and they taste a little bit
savory. Buttermilk pancakes remind me of scones...just in a softer and
flatter form; but their flavors are sort of the same.

Weeding in the Morning

I spent 30 minutes this morning getting rid of the weed grown between
the concrete on my driveway. That's only 1 % of the weed that I have
on my property. But...it's a good feeling that I have actually been
making progress of reviving my house.

Alidoro Sandwich: Pinocchio

Went to Alidoro sandwich shop with my cousin for lunch. I had a
Pinocchio. The ingredients are: proscuitto, soppressata, fresh
mozzarella, sweet peppers, and olive tapenade on focaccia bread.

At last...

A desk-shelf work station, a bed to sleep on (can't believe that I
slept on the couch in my own house for the last two months), and an
organized bookshelf, which I think it's getting smaller with my
increased collection of books.
